I despise: having eczema, whiners, teenies, sluts, tuna, poo, html, not understanding add. maths (which happens pretty often), people who ''TypE lyK dIs!!!11!1one1!'' and all-nighters.

Michelle

People call me: Michelle, Mishy, Mish, Chelle-Chelle, Shelly... She doesn't quite have enough nicknames yet...
I am: sixteen.
I was born on: 16 January 1991.
I am: short. 5' to be exact. Sorry Mich! =p

My favourite sports are: Basketball, softball, gaelic football, hockey, ice skating, gymnastics... I didn't know she was so sporty.
I love: Chocolate, stargazing, ice cream, summer, spring, shiny/colourful things, the computer, making new friends, playing pranks, music, trampolining/trampet-ing, attempting to 'make sushi', trying to fry an omelette without burning the house down, baking, understanding accounting, having random discussions in accounting with the guys, shoe shopping with friends at 8.30pm when all the stores are closed(which curbs our spending. =P), trying to climb the ropes at school and not succeeding, laughing at anything and everything, taking pictures of everything and everyone, all my friends, and all that is Malaysian.
I hate: Cold fronts, moving places through no choice of my own, "mean people" (snobs, racists, sexists, bullies, backstabbers, people who bitch), fakes and pretty much all that is gloomy. Oh, and CORRUPTION (which we get quite enough of here...you won't believe how many corrupted Malaysians I bumped into at the embassy).

Thank You.

I'd like to thank everyone that was a part of this blog, from its very conception, August 6th 2005, until its death, or inactivity sometime mid-2007. Thanks guys. You were the ones who made it happen. Well, actually, it was Michelle and I who made it happen, but you were who we did it for. We salute you.

Change

Hey guys, I've decided to change blogs. Yeah, I've been neglecting this one, mainly because I'm starting to get irritated with the way it never actually gets onto the website properly. And then there are some thing that don't show up.

So I'm officially moving to www.malaysian-at-heart.blogspot.com because it logs on properly and does not give me all sorts of crap.

So thanks guys for reading this blog all this time, you've been amzing readers as well as amazing commentators. And thanks to Ami for actually creating this blog. It's been an amazing year.

So end ends the reign of the Crazy Waffle blog.

Love,
Michelle <3

Boo.

Well, we've passed Valentine's Day on the 14th, which, I have to say, I normally find quite uneventful. Because on this day, I am used to witnessing girls flock off with like a hundred roses in one arm after the dedications are over (in GIS, they are deposited at your table in the morning. In Saints, they force you into a room together with your entire grade and do the dedications right there and then) which they then delightfully parade around for the entire day instead of depositing them in their lockers. After which they run around going "Oh my gosh, I got so many roses from 'so and so' and 'so and so' and they gave it to me because of 'reason 1' and 'reason 2' and now I feel so guilty because I got so many and other people didn't get any bah blah blah blah..." and the list goes on. This year, however, me and my mates were, I must say, very generous to each other since we gave the entire group chocolates in the morning instead of sending them through dedications except for Tanya, who, being the ever patriotic Saint, decided to donate to the Valentine's dedication cause and send us all heart shaped lollies from Woolworths. Then we stayed on, nuts that we were, to see who received what when in fact we actually already knew who was going to get what. Then, unexpected surprise of unexpected surprises, I got a rose. Who from?

Keagan Malan.

The Boys' College dedications had actually been coming in a bit late because they were 'stuck on Rivonia' and could not for the life of them avoid the traffic for some strange reason, when instead, they could be walking across the field and dumping them on our doorstep. So anyway, at long last, after the dedications from the Girls' College, and all the other schools had been sorted out, Boys' College started to get sorted out too. And I wasn't really paying attention. Okay, I paid no attention whatsoever because I was talking to Tanya and Steph about how many dedications would go to who and how, aside from all of us in our lovely little group, there was no way we were going to receive dedications from anyone. Then suddenly my name gets called and I'm like 'huh?'. And I'm sitting right up at the front so I swung around, grabbed the rose that one of the girls was pointing at me and I took a look at the note attached and I think I went bright red, but I know for sure that my jaw fell down pretty low. Ntombi sure can read fast because as soon as my jaw dropped she went "Love Keagz?? (that's what he signed it off with) Let's see?" Then the whole group looks at it and goes 'Awwwww...' And I think I definitely went bright red around here. Especially since Keagan sent a rose to me, and no one else. And I know this because he pretty much knows my whole group of friends and they got nada from him.

So then, just two days ago, I was talking to Keagan on Mxit (which is like South African chat service, a bit like MSN, but using mobile phones and it's way cheaper than sms) and he was saying something about hoping I didn't get the wrong idea about the rose and that he wanted to send yellow roses, but the Boys' College didn't have yellow roses. And then I said that I didn't get the wrong message and that yellow roses meant love everlasting so it would have been worse if he sent those. To which he replies whoops, his bad, he thought it meant friendship. Then I asked him why he actually did send it and then he says it was because he thought we were friends. I'm going to take it that he means that we're really close friends because my friends are also his friends anyway to begin with.

You know, I've decided that all guys must somehow see me as one of the guys because I've never actually been treated like a girl. They tell me things that no one else knows, they ask me why girls act the way they do, they ask me to play football with them(and it has happened- one guy somehow took it into his head that I could play pro football against him...and he's a rugby player)...the list just goes on. And it's so weird. I mean, yeah, the girls see me as one of the girls then the guys see me as one of the guys. Wow, I'm a total enuch. My accounting class is a good example. They talk about everything under the sun, they ask me for help, they talk to me about some things like sometimes football and big macs and whatever. I mean, for goodness's sake, they even sing Fergie's songs in front of me. Then when I have to go back to the Girls' school a little early or whatever, suddenly it becomes a whole big issue of 'Sir, you're playing favourites because she's a girl.' and I'm just like, well, I'm not exactly a guy am I? That and the fact that I need to get to my next class on time, and besides, it's not them who's walking across the field, it's me. Unless they want to trishaw me across. And then when I find things hard in accounting class it's suddenly like 'Sir, you see, even Michelle found the exercise hard. It must tell you something, because girls are smart.' mainly because I understand my accounting stuff and usually get the highest marks for it in my class. I think something's got to change. Life as an enuch is nice and all, but it's not getting me anywhere.

Well, I've described Valentine's Day (Or Singles' Awareness Day as Amirah refers to it...=D) on the Girls' side. Time to move on to the Boys' side...=D
It's actually pretty harsh on the boys' side. What they do is they congregate on the field outside the girls' college and they handed out dedications there. In addition to the handing out, they pick out the most juicy dedications and read it out to the whole school (major embarrasimo) and the matric prefects will also dress up then to make it more exciting. Last year they dressed up in the Saints Girls' uniform (which enraged us, but it was funny all the same) and this year, they dressed up in mini skirts. Now THAT was funny...=D Although I must say, it's rather degrading to us. Of course, I couldn't get much of a closer look because when we got to the edge of the field, the guys were like 'No, go away. This is the guy's dedications, it's not for girls.' So then we had to back off or risk the wrath of the guy's anger.

Chinese New Year tomorrow! Gong Xi, Gong XI, Xin Nian Kuai Le and all that. I clean the house for no money whatsoever. Beautiful. Anyway, to any pigs out there, Happy CNY, this is your year for luck, health, wealth and prosperity...=D Have fun tomorrow y'all...

He-yo the hum hum hey...

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Yeah, and I almost smashed my fist into my diary when I got this quote out of it. To date, I currently have…*counts* two projects on the discoveries and quotes of this mad genius and am currently discussing this man in three of my subjects. When I found this quote, I just looked at it and went “Yeah, you would say that wouldn’t you?”

My first project on this man is about, guess what, his discoveries on the limitations of Newton’s three laws in the universe. What mad hatter would want to try and figure out if Newton’s laws applied in space? I mean, honestly. Newton was a genius, and learning about his stuff is already hard enough as it is, but please. Why does Einstein have to do this to us?
My next project is about compound interest in maths whereby Einstein makes a statement going “Compound interest is the most powerful force in the world.” Yeah. Seriously, who knew compound interest was a force? And since when was it categorised under the word ‘force’? I had to find four examples of compound interest and give examples of how they worked all because this man did not watch his mouth. And I only managed to find three examples until I went to my accounting teacher and quite forcibly got him to give me a few more examples of compound interest. Now that I have them, I can now get started. Yippee!

The other subject where I am currently discussing this man is in history where we were going on about Hiroshima because, for some reason, some girl thought that Japan getting bombed during the Cold War was somehow related to China two timing Russia and America and that somehow, Korea managed to get replaced by Japan. (I wish I was back in Asia where we are smart and know our world maps off by heart… Get this, some girl thought that Vietnam was in China. I almost strangled her.) And I was sort of explaining to them how it was Einstein that actually created the atomic bomb using his equation E=mc2 because I found out from some documentary and some whiner of a girl was like “I hate Einstein! If he weren’t already dead, I would’ve killed him with my own bare hands! *blah blah blah*”. Well, hate to break it to you, but actually, no, you wouldn’t. Because if he were still alive, he’d have to be much younger, therefore, he wouldn’t have made those discoveries yet, and if he hadn’t made those discoveries yet, or if he’d just recently made those discoveries, we wouldn’t have had to learn it in school.
She must just stop complaining.

Apparently, to the black people, I am actually very ghetto.

But frankly, I haven’t really changed much and my mannerisms are pretty much still the same, so to me, it’s all very Malaysian. And whenever I tell them it’s such a Malaysian thing to do, they tell me, no, it’s a very ghetto thing to do.

Wow. Who knew Malaysians and black people were so similar?

LOL. Random fact for the day for you there.

Oh boy, Mother Tongue Day is in a few weeks. I’m so doomed.

Maybe I should make Malay out to be my mother tongue. At least I understand Malay better than I do Mandarin or, for that fact, Cantonese.

Events up and happening this month:
8th February – Sung Yeon’s birthday. Damn I miss her, but wherever you are, happy birthday Sung Yeon.
14th February – Valentine’s Day. Get your roses ready guys, because your girlfriends are expecting them, all fresh and pretty. Chocolates are an acceptable substitute, but don’t blame me when they start complaining about how fat they’re getting the week after. =D

 – I am going to dissect a cow heart in biology on this day! Well, talk about a broken heart…

18th February – Gong Xi Fa Cai, Hong Pao Na Lai? The Year of the Pig has begun its reign!

20th February – Happy Birthday Sarah! Enjoy secondary school at home…=D

27th February – Happy Birthday Jake!
28th February – Happy Birthday Lee Ann! What can you do in Canada at 16 by the way?

Yup, loads of events, all pretty much happening one day after the other. If there are any Pigs reading this, I wish you a happy and prosperous CNY and for goodness sake, give a cheer! You’ve made it through twelve years of your life! Does anyone actually know just how hard that is?

By the way, if anyone is going to the
Sungai Klang
on Chap Goh Meh, please throw a mandarin in for me…hehe…=D I’ve never been able to do it before (mainly because I don’t want to have to go through traffic, or, for the matter of fact, have to even go to town at night because it’s freakin’ scary, and I’m not really that desperate) and I want someone to do it on my behalf…please??? LOL. And take a picture with a sign on it going: This mandarin is for Michelle.

That would make for some interesting thought…but whatever anyone does, no pomaelos (however it’s spelt) please. I really don’t want to be seen as that desperate, LOL.

Well, as we all seem to know, Amirah has decided to leave Crazy Waffles and start up her own blog again on Blogspot. So just to say thanks to her for creating such a great blog and now leaving all the nitty gritty details of this blog to me now…=D I am now going to have an arse of a time making Crazy Waffles as good as she made it just so I can attract all you readers again because knowing you all, you will all run off to Ami’s new blog and leave mine alone… LOL. Well, Ami's allowed me the choice of leaving this blog too, but i'll have to see first, because I want to get the best of any blog, so there we go. I have currently taken up a blogspot too, so guys, just please take a look every now and again to see which one you like best. I have to finish creating it first, but not to worry. As soon as I'm done with it, all details will be given. thanks y'all!

Anyway, that’s all for now.

Love,
Michelle <3

Moving blogs?

Well guys, I've decided to move my blog to Blogspot, just because I like that system better, and it's more cooperative when it comes to photos. I actually came up with the blog name Stereotype Me a long time ago (and made the title collage), but never got round to publishing it. So now, I am. I still haven't gotten word back from Michelle, whether she wants to continue this one, or try out blogspot as well, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

So yes, THIMUN pictures can be found here (my pictures) and here (Illa's pictures). The THIMUN report will be published on my new blog, once I get it up and running. It's been fun with Crazy Waffles. I started it the summer before Year 10 and now it's February of Year 11. Ah well. All good things come to an end. I hope you guys like my new blog as much as you liked this one (if at all!).

Later,

MUN - best one ever

Sorry guys, I still haven't finished typing up my long-ass THIMUN report, so you'll have to wait a little longer for that. (But it'll be posted by next week, I promise!) So, I will begin recounting this week on Monday, because I still consider Sunday part of THIMUN. I was jetlagged. I couldn't get to sleep until at least twelve. I finally got over jet lag Wednesday night, I think. I fell into bed at 11 and slept through my alarm the next morning and had to be wrestled out of bed at ten to six.

Anyway.

This week has flown past, and the weekend is now upon us. I am SO ready for the weekend, but, alas, I have to play catch-up in all my subjects first. And update my history and business folders. It is a sad thing (though undoubtedly funny) when your teacher makes fun of your "amazingly effective filing system". The "filing system" that is my business textbook with all my papers slotted randomly between pages.

Today was my first PE lesson since the one during which I sprained my ankle. It was pretty good, aside from Leela hitting me with her boob. I retaliated with an elbow, but I argue that I didn't put much effort into it, so she was unharmed. If she tells you how I drastically reduced her cup size (not that it'd matter), don't believe her, she's exaggerating. Oh yeah, I almost scored! Denis passed back to me and I "gave it a smack" (though my smack wasn't very hard at all), and it was ALMOST stopped by the keeper, so Denis whizzed past me and tapped the ball in, so we had a victory dance and lots of high fives. W00t!

MUN after school was quite possibly the most hilarious session I have ever attended. First of all, Raf claimed the role of Chair, and both Illa and I wanted to be Assistant Chair, so we rock-paper-scissored it. And guess who won. =p We had okay debate, the same people (props to the first-time THIMUNers - we're all experts now, haha. Niall and his gang as well as the senior girls' basketball team were away at SEASAC, so yeah, that's the reason why Iona spoke a lot and I got to chair =p). Towards the end, after an interesting debate, we called on the "Delegates of Iona and Justine to take the floor and present a point of entertainment". You can guess what happened next.

Now, I'm going to do some homework, not to mention continue typing the THIMUN report for all you regular blog-readers.

Love ya!
A. x

Look at all the pretty lights in the sky...

I looked up in the sky yesterday and I actually saw stars. Not very many of course, this being the city and all, but I saw them, more then I will probably ever find in Malaysia all my life. And everytime I see stars I think Trek, mainly because I saw my first three shooting stars then. And even then only with the help of Dean Cowley did I see them. And the only reason Dean was helping me was because his sleeping bag was next to mine. Dean doesn't recognise me anymore...he was waiting on the Girls' College side for his sister and he didn't even say hi to me. I'll have to remind him...=D

There're so many things happening already, I'm going to be so bushed by the end of the week.

--> First I have a Maths class test this Tuesday.
--> After which I have Aftercare again, wheeee!!! I love those kids *crosses fingers behind back* Well, okay, fine, some of them...
--> Then I have a Biology test on Friday.
--> Then I have a Choir outing on Friday for which I get to miss school.
And then...whoops! Did I just say I have a Choir outing and Bio test on the same day?
Damn, I forgot to say that I now have to move my Bio test back a day to Thursday because of my Choir outing to Sandton.

Damn you Choir!!!

No, kidding, I love choir, really.

I'm going to enjoy this first term I think.

Then next term, I'm going to start crying. Just watch me y'all.

Because next term is test term.

Well, I guess it can't be that bad if the guys are with us...suffering...LOL. For grade 11, boys and girls are all shoved together in the gym for exams. Next year, we get Mears Hall which is kind of like a more official venue to have your A level exams  I suppose. I mean seriously, would you want to have IGCSE exams in a classroom? If i recall, we all managed to cheat like crazy for the mandarin exam in year 9 under Ms. Yap's nose who, might I add and refresh your memory, did not notice a thing. Who was in class with me at the time...oh yeah! Tom, and Elaine...Wouter...yup. You guys know what I'm on about right? Hehe. The gym is merely for practice. But at least we don't have to walk all the way to the Boys' College for one single bloody exam lasting a total maximum of say three hours now...=D And I say three hours because that's usually how long the accounting exam is. And the accounting exam is the longest exam. Always.

In accounting class, I am the only girl in a class of approximately eight boys. Used to be nine, but then David our friendly next door Korean left and went back to Korea. Leaving me to be the only Asian in the class.
You know, much as I don't really talk to David,l I miss the guy. He has left a rather big gap in my life because not only was he in my accounting class, he was also in my mandarin class.
Anyway, back to accounting class.
There is a Nigerian called Martin and a Malawian called Mini, because he is so tiny. I don't know what his real name is. Don't ever ask. There is also a white South African called James, who is my rival in accounting. We were working rather peacefully in class, having a few chats here and there (well, okay, the boys were talking and I was kinda trying to help Chris with his accounting because he couldn't make sense of the exercise for some reason while everyone else could) when suddenly, out of nowhere (and I mean, nowhere) Martin start singing Fergalicious.

The South Africans are currently rather hooked on it, and maybe I can understand why so for the girls.

But for the guys?

Then Mini joins in with the Fergalicious song. Then he starts in about Fergalicious being a better song than London Bridge was.

And then he starts singing that.

And then James started singing Fergalicious with Martin.

So all you really hear is: Fergalicious, definition-London, London Bridge-make 'em boys go loko-wanna go down like...

I am currently living in fear and worry of my accounting class if they're going to suddenly start spouting out of nowhere like that.

Although I must admit, when I got out of class I realised my stomach was hurting so bad because I was trying to prevent myself from bursting out laughing throughout the entire thing. And I also couldn't look at anyone in the eye on my way out.

It would've been too dangerous.

Anyway, that's my news for the week.

Love,
Michelle <3

Gargh

I have hereby decided that Grade 11's a bitch.

It's two weeks into the year and I'm already stressed to the bone.

Half the grade is crying.

I'm about to just give up on the whole thing

Why am I even studying when dying could be much easier???

Okay, fine, I'm starting to sound like a really depressed psycho, but seriously, yeah.

Although, to look on the bright side, science has actually started to make sense.

But what's the point if all the other teachers seem to think that their subjects are the only ones we take.

Life is screwy.

And what's worse, with the results I'll probably get, I won't even get into Universiti Malaya because they prefer Malays...

Watch me sink into despair guys...

I wish I was back at Garden...
